La Saloge: ”La Saloge” is in a small hamlet situated in gentle rolling farmland between the medieval town of Josselin and the larger market town of Ploërmel in the Department of Morbihan (56), Brittany. Each town is fifteen minutes easy driving from the house: the coast near Vannes is forty minutes away.
Nearby sandy beach: Just nine minutes by car from the house is the impressive Lac au Duc, popular for a safe bathing (it has a protected sandy beach), boating, sailing and watersports. There is a dinghy and sail boarding school with qualified instructors.
Places to visit: There are numerous places of interest in the immediate area including the Forest of Brocéliande with its links to King Arthur, the historic gem of Rochefort –en-Terre, the inland resort of La Gacilly and the great château of the Dukes of Brittany at Josselin. In addition there is the Nantes-Brest canal with its peaceful towpath for cycling and walking. Large cruises may be hired by the week from Josselin and electric day boats from La Gacilly on the River Oust.
